The Introduction

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first installment of my brand new blog, All Things Hockey.

I should start by introducing myself. My name is Jeremy, and I live in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, which is about half an hour west of North Bay, or an hour east of Sudbury, depending on how you want to look at it. I have a lovely wife and two wonderful children. I was born in the early morning of Wednesday, January 10, 1979. Later that night, the Montreal Canadiens would lose 3-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins. I blame Scotty Bowman for it, because he decided to start Bunny Larocque in place of Ken Dryden.

As you may have guessed, this will be a place for me to expound my thoughts about the game of hockey and those that make a living from it, be they players, coaches, owners, etc. Sometimes it might get a little technical. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a big fan of numbers and statistics, so I'll be posting a lot of them on here, along with my opinions on what the statistics mean. Stats reflect two things: how good a player is, and the conditions/context in which the player played. I'll talk about that a lot.

Time is short right now, so I'll leave this for now. When I get a chance, probably tomorrow, I'll come back with my plan for the NHL's realignment.
